My aim.. to stay true to my heart, connected with my students and have fun
I have been practicing yoga for over 18 years when I first stumbled into an Ashtanga class. I observed the practitioner’s ability to move gracefully and effortlessly into nearly impossible positions with focus, stillness and physical strength, I was in awe. I fell in love with the practice instantly and the connection I felt with myself on the mat, for what felt like the first time.
I then completed my first Teacher Training in Ashtanga and worked with various certified Teachers including Joey Miles, Sharath Jois, Hamish Hendry & Charlie Taylor Rugman
I continued with my own disciplined practice of Ashtanga whilst then exploring the more Yin elements of the Yoga tradition. This led me to an embodied Yin Teacher Training with Satu Tomola which has now enriched my whole Yoga experience and Teaching methodology. I find the balance between the outward expression of a Dynamic practice and the more Inward still exploration of Yin an absolute perfect mixture.
I opened my own thriving Yoga Studio, Holy Cow Yoga, 8 Years ago now in Derbyshire UK and for the last 9 years have held yearly Yoga retreats in Goa and Europe. I also have my own registered Teaching School where we take students out to Goa India to complete their Intensive 200hr Teacher Training. This course is also available at our studio in the UK
I am a patient yet motivating teacher who understands the challenges people face in their practice. Over my years of teaching I have developed the ability to see what holds my students back whether it be physical or mental restrictions and give guidance through both verbal and physical adjustments to help them break these barriers and live their lives in a more aware presence.
I am a fully Registered Senior Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance.
"Anyone can practice. Young man can practice. Old man can practice. Very old man can practice. Man who is sick, he can practice. Man who doesn't have strength can practice. Except lazy people; lazy people can't practice Ashtanga yoga."
