Drawing from the Ashtanga asanas, my class takes steadier approach, allowing time for adjustments and improving technique, making it accessible for all.

I first attended a yoga class in 2001 whilst pregnant with my first child and instantly knew it was for me.  It wouldn’t, however, be until 2016, when life got on top of me that I returned to the mat.  Practicing as often as time allowed, nourishing myself in yogas grounding and healing properties, it was my salvation.

In 2017 I became a part of the wonderful and warm HCY community.  My practice and knowledge began to deepen, even more on retreats in Ibiza and Goa.  Being in the fortunate position to take early retirement after 30+ years in the Civil Service,  I last year had the privilege of completed my 200hrs TT with Taran @bambooyogaretreat in Goa, where I found who, and how I truly wanted to be.

As a lover of Ashtanga I value the benefits the asanas can bring and so base my Hatha class around this series. Taking a steadier approach allows time for adjustments and improving technique, making it accessible for more, who will, I feel, grow to love and benefit from its practice.

"Anyone can practice. Young man can practice. Old man can practice. Very old man can practice. Man who is sick, he can practice. Man who doesn't have strength can practice. Except lazy people; lazy people can't practice Ashtanga yoga."
