Yoga came into my life during one of my original overseas adventures way back in 1999. I was staying for a few months in a lovely place called Maroochydore, Australia when I met a yoga teacher who introduced me to the wonderful world of Hatha. I enjoyed each of his classes as they led me to a beautiful sense of peace, unfortunately the timing wasn't right and this experience was short lived. It did however lead to years of experimenting with various exercise styles and home practice of yoga and pilates.
My yoga journey began properly the day I walked into this wonderful studio, Holy Cow Yoga. Until this point I had spent a lot of time home practising with no true idea of what I was doing. It was only when I was introduced to Ashtanga Yoga by Taran that my mind started standing still and I learnt the simplicity and power of moving with my breath.
I took the first 200 hour TTC ran here in 2019, qualifying as a teacher in February 2020. Which led me to teach online classes through the Covid lockdown and then started teaching in person classes here in June 2021.
I have completed certificates in; Embodied Yin, Assisting & Adjusting, Asana deconstructing & skilful teaching, Chair Yoga, Children’s Yoga. I am now undertaking my 300 hour TTC online, with My Vinyasa practice. Which includes Yin Yoga, Yoga Nidra, Restorative Yoga, Yoga for therapy plus much more.
One of my main focuses is to help you to find an adaption of the pose to meet yourself where you are today and to help you connect back to your breath and the power you have within. When you connect back to your breath and move with it you connect back to yourself.
"Anyone can practice. Young man can practice. Old man can practice. Very old man can practice. Man who is sick, he can practice. Man who doesn't have strength can practice. Except lazy people; lazy people can't practice Ashtanga yoga."
